So ... uh ... whats the movement rate of a ship?

I figure a horse can travel 48 miles a day (doubling the 30 movement rate in the Chapter on Adventuring) but how far can a ship go?

Depends on the type of ship. Ships are limited in speed by their hull length. A sailboat goes about 6 knots (roughly 6mph), a big, fat merchant ship will also plod along at 6 knots or so, but a post-medieval ship designed for speed (like a Clipper) could hit 20 knots.
