BoED, prestige classes

I dont know if this has been discussed here on this forum before, but I have a question/concern of the Exalted Arcanists spell list (s). I want to make sure I have read correctly, the access to all exalted spells as spells known and may choose any sanctified spell as spell known. What would be the difference between a bard or Sorcerer, for which this prestige class was intended, vs that of a set list caster such as Beguiler, or warmage?

questions:

1) what about multiclassed BBEG?
2) the name of this spell "sword" would indicate an attack which equals roll to hit either norm or by touch, it would appear this is not the case? DM nerfed it because it sayed the word "struck".
3) player wanted to use spell thru spiritual weapon and the player is a multiclassed Duskblade. This brought an interesting question to mind "spiritual weapon delivering touch attacks, or as Arcane archer delivering area spells" is this even possible?
