Yeah, another thread, but this one should be short.
I was playing another character this week, our monk with the vow of poverty. The PC's player was out of town and told us me I could play her as well as run my character and thus handed over the character sheet.
Now, the crux of the matter. I'm not an expert on Exalted deeds type characters so I did some research with the DM's book before we started.
The PC is an 8th level monk, race being aasimar. Thus, at first level they would have to take the Sacred Vow feat.
Next time they get a feat is of course 3rd level, so the character takes Vow of Poverty.
Now, from reading the section on Vow of Poverty comes some of my confusion, (this is only important to me as the player I'm 100 percent sure the PC's real player doesn't care about my anal retentiveness).
Taking the vow means you retroactively get the level abilities of from the Vow of Poverty. EXCEPT the bonus feats.
Now, further reading of the list of abilities granted in the paragraph about first level powers it explains what I have above and states the character gets a bonus feat at first level. But the chart indicates the first bonus feat is at 2nd level.
So, first, the character should be missing the bonus feat at second level because they aren't human and didn't start with Sacred Vow and Vow of Poverty at first level. Correct?
Second, is there errata on the conflict between the first level/second level text?
As I've stated above, this isn't a big issue. The player is a good guy but doesn't have the grasp of mechanics I do.
