Book of Generic Hero NPC's

There are the ones in the 20 Modern book. I have used these to create NPCs but it would be really cool to have another resource to look at when you need a quick NPC.

Has anyone done, or have plans to do, a book of generic hero npc's for d20 Modern?

We are actually working on an NPC book right now that will be out this winter. It includes characters for multiple genres. And while you'll get complete stats, backgrounds, motivations, and adventure hooks for each character we want to give you more for your games. Every character gives you something new that can be dropped into your campaign. Some of the characters present all new equipment, feats, occupations, creatures, spells, and even new advanced and prestige classes.

Kind of like 'Everyone Else' or whatever that book of NPC's was for D&D?

Sounds like a good idea to me...I wouldn't buy it, but since the other product did well that a modern version might sell ok.

Not to hijack the thread, but why would you pay to get a book full of NPC's? They're not that hard to create by hand, and generally you change a few things (like feats or skill selection) around anyways.

What would make you actually spend good money on a book that just has NPCs? What would make it 'stand out' enough for you to actually purchase? For me, I guess it would have to have some cool new equipment (as someone else said), and some interesting combinations of how to achieve a certain type of character that may or may not have a specific AdC of PrC made for them.

Of course, AdC's and PrC's (and feats as well) are already a dime a dozen...how many 'more' do we really need? Most of them are the same as something else, with maybe one skill switched in/out...

MythicJustice: How many characters do you think will be in it?

Between 30 - 40 characters in total. The book will be 128 pages soft cover. This means that each character will have 3 - 4 pages worth of material, including the new crunch attached to the character.

They aren't "generic," but there is the d20 Modern NetBook of Fictional Characters (version 1.05, 1.06 pending), created by yours truly.
