Whoa. I didn't know it was out.

I'll have to run out this weekend and pick it up :)
(assuming it has made it to West MI by then...)
It's out in PDF. It's gonna take a few months before it's out in hardcopy.

Personally i have mixed feelings about new core classes, it's sometimes handled as a deluxe prestige class. Spending 16 pages (17%) of a 96 page rogue book on three new core classes should be unwise. But the Bandit, Gutter mage, and the Shadowsworn are to damn kewl and have gotten what they deserve (16 pages worth). Normally i hate prestige classes (we stopped using them in our game), they are generally used as 'cheap' page filler who's only function is to further the 'arms-race' (better and stronger prestige classes with each new book). Here there are only three and they have charm, something a lot of prestige classes lack. The usual stuff, such as spells feats, and equipment is here as well, some are fun and interesting, others make me want to scratch my head in wonderment (bad wondermnt). The rest of the book is great, probably worth the 9 bucks in it's self (although i personally have mixed feeling about the luck system).

I'm interested in the new core classes, the Gutter Mage especially.

I have liked most of the books in this series. Book of Iron Might was a little disappointing, but loved Eldritch Might.

Thanks. I am set on buying it, and just wanted someone's first impressions. I really liked Iron Might, though it's not seen any use in my games. We get to game so infrequently it's not worth trying to force new things on the group at this time.

I also want Lords of Madness pretty badly, but I'll wait to get in hardback. I don't mind having a smaller supplement in .pdf (I can print them at work for free by being sneaky), but I love the feel of a book in my hands over that of a keyboard when it comes to reading them.

I know many folks really have varied opinions on the upcoming releases from Malhavoc and Wizards, but I'm pretty excited about what 2005 will offer us.
