Boston gaming - PAX East needs RPG volunteers!

I'm told that PAX East, the 60,000 person Penny Arcade Expo in Boston this March (and organized by Zarathustran, a long-time EN Worlder), needs "Enforcers" for their gaming hall. Since tickets are sold out or close to it, and with no passes available at the door, it may be the best way to go. Come volunteer! The gaming should be great.

If you're interested, head to http://www.paxsite.com/paxeast/index.php and look for the 1-04-10 update with the volunteer form.

I also expect to be running a game or two. Anyone else know that they're going?

Feel free to tweet or repost this, by the way; the more people who see it, the more volunteers they'll get, the more gaming that can occur.

GeeksDreamGirl and I will be there. I was trying not to volunteer (since I tend to do so much work at cons) but I may jump in to help somewhat.

Regardless, I plan on running something and playing lots :)

I'm fully registered for PAXEast though, do to be married with a kid, didn't want to commit a full day to volunteering. Any news on what it takes to run a game? I'd certainly be happy to do something like that.

I too will be there and like Dave I'm stepping away from official 'work'. I'll run games for friends and online buddies. Mouse Guard, maybe 4e.

I think I'll be running a game of Dread; a friend gave me an idea that's too good not to use.

Anyone know when the official gaming and/or event schedule is published?

I've already registered for the con and was planning on running a 4E game once or twice while there, but didn't realize I needed to go through the "Enforcer" program to do so (if indeed that is what I need to do). Perhaps I'll email the program coordinator and find out if that's indeed how to go about volunteering to run a game once or twice. I just didn't want to commit to the number of hourslots that GenCon and the RPGA usually asks of their DMs over the course of a weekend.

Nope - enforcers are volunteers who help manage the gaming halls (amongst other things.) I think they get comped entry in exchange, although I don't know the details. That's separate than just running games.

PC, I'm definitely going, and please count me in your Dread game if you run it. Despite its constant presence at gamedays, I still have not had a chance to play that.

I'd love to run some stuff too, but I haven't figured out what the process is (if there is any) for submitting games. Anybody know?
