Dear Wolfspider:

Please count me in as a charter member of B.A.D.D.

I will soon post some of my own ideas about the most noble of beings - and how to use them to their cruelest intensity.

That was a FR solution to munchkinny characters: munchkinny monsters. Bah I say! Souping up the dragons with templates and class levels will do nothing to earn them the respect they deserve! Playing them as smart and evil and malevolent as they truly are is the only way to make players fear the name DRAGON!

I can't believe no one did this yet!

I'm B.A.D.D. to the bone! It's unthinkable that dragons are treated like a bunch of pansies incapable of killing a few measly adventurers.
I blame JRR Tolkien for that horrible depiction of Smaug in The Hobbit, as if an single arrow could kill a dragon, pfft.

Ladies, gentlemen, I join this noble cause for it concerns a matter near and dear to my heart. The reputation and good name of the dragon. For far too long the dragon has been a butt of jokes, a source of easy wealth, and an animal to be slain by fools with a penknife.

Enough.

A dragon is not another beast to be led meekly to the slaughter. A dragon is a force of nature, an elemental force. A being of such potency as to make the gods themselves quiver upon their celestial thrones, and the mightiest demons quake in their iron-bound citadels.

A dragon is the Earth in the throes of an earthquake. A dragon is the sky in the grip of a storm. A dragon is the sea in the midst of a typhoon. A dragon is the volcano as the lava bombs assail the heavens themselves. A dragon is not XP.

I send this call out to all those who know and admire dragons as they so richly deserve to be. Join us. Join Bothered About Disposable Dragons and teach those puling fools who boast of their dragon slaying might the lessons they so richly deserve.

AHH, finally a champion of Dragonkind has risen from the ENboards, Wolfspider, I salute you, and will gladly follow you in this valiant quest to return dragonkin to their true place and respect!

I love it when my PCs face a dragon, especially when they defeat it, cause dragons are bad arse. There are not dragons slayers in my campaign worlds, it is a dead end occupation litterally.

But I love that they scaled dragons to every CR, there is no reason why a low level party cannot face a dragon (albiet a very young one) and have a great time fighting, and even defeating it.

My only reget, and it sounds like other share the same view, is that dragons are played like giants. Rarely to their full potential. there is nothing greater than defeating a tough dragon, and nothing cheaper than beating a stupid lizard.

Can you dragon guys do something about the gnome problem the boards have been having recently? If so I would be delighted to join and be B.A.D.D.:D

Well met, Wolfspider.

Needless to say, I'm all for the effort, since I think me and James are about to come to fisticuffs over his pathetic 'CR 20' juvenile red dragon / Wizard 10 that was supposedly the controller of Dragon Mountain!

(Man on the Street testimonial) Something must be done!
There are people on these very boards who believe that a dragon gets out of its shell, flies away and is "all by myself" for the rest of its existence until their PC party comes along to teach it a new bag of tricks and Lay the PC Smack Down!
