Something I wish I had done Big. Course I'm not unhappy with BoVD, but I didn't buy it to make my villians more creative, just more evilly powered.

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, excellent book by the way, and I was wondering what motivated the death eaters to follow Voldemort?

I'm just finishing Koba the Dread: Laughter and the 20 Million, which I recommend if you want to learn more about evil. (Not so much if you want to keep your lunch down, though.)

The Death Eaters were motivated by power, for one thing; Voldemort rewarded those loyal to him. Some were motivated out of the fear that Voldemort was going to win, and it was best to sign up for the winning side right away. Some were just vile creeps who realized that they would be able to act out their creepy urges with the Dark Lord in charge.
