Going through old posts, I came across this thread. Hong has it right: one of the most half-hearted boycotts we've ever seen.

Giants of Legend has been selling very well, as far as I can see - even with the cost and annoying uncommon huges. (Sure, there are people not buying it, but there are those who have started as well).

Incidentally, Aberrations is the new starter set, as theorized.

Well, Wotc has decided to reward our continued support of their minis line by screwing us with a 30% price increase on every booster pack, raising the retail from 9.99 to 12.99. It would seem that's what we get for making their miniatures a success.

I can't afford to collect them, I can't afford to take them everywhere I game with me, and I can't afford to have them get in the way. So, I'm with you by default.

F*** that. I'm not boycotting s***. My friend and player in my Kingdoms of Kalamar group painted the masters for Archfiends and Star Wars, and is in line to paint more. Even if it's $12.99 you're still getting one hell of a hookup, considering I've paid that much for one unpainted, unassembled ralidium giant.
