Bracers Of armor and Nat armor

I was wondering, why is there a bracers of armor but no bracers of natural armor allowed without extra price? Both are a type of armor bonus no?

No. One is an Armor Bonus and the other is a Natural Armor Bonus. Both apply to AC and stack. That is why there are Bracers of Armor (the former bonus type) and Amulets of Natural Armor (the latter bonus). Although there is nothing that prevents you from creating Bracers of Natural Armor. I would limit it to a +5 bonus, the same as the amulets. I believe the reason for Bracers of Armor going to +8 is that they a direct replacement for armor and the highest armor bonus provided by armor in the core rules is +8.

So would that mean that I would not have to purchase the extra cost due to there being on a different slot?

I would price Bracers of Natural Armor the same as Bracers of Armor.

Bracers of nat armor are a very simple modification......take the amulet of nat armor, change it to bracers, same price, tadaa.

I think the price of natural armor is a huge mistake personally. On one hand you have deflection, works agaisnt touch attacks, etc, and on the other, a inferior armor bonus that DOESNT work against touch attacks, etc, and they cost the same.

I think the DMG or some other book even brings up this issue and suggests that a DM can lower the price of natural armor bonus to even it out.

Slot Affinity

Slot affinity says that necklaces are for protection and bracers are for combat.

That said, I think the question becomes, why are bracers of armor bracers or why don't they cost more?

I would just say that bracers are also available as protection slots.

Keep in mind that changing the slot on an amulet of nat armor is a pretty big deal. The amulet slot is a very coveted slot with such things as the periat of wis and the amulet of con.
