Hi Guys...

How would you judge the Briar Web/Entangle effectivness when a fireball hits the area... a 6d6-7d6 fireball... ? The plant are burned and gone ? Or like they say in the spell the plants grow fast and cover blast area again ? Game effect is damage goes on ?

What about firewall... ? Would it completely burn away all plants

If you rule that fireballs can burn trees and wooden objects normally, then the same should apply to the briar web. The wall of fire would certainly dispose of any briar web within its area of effect.

Remember that a fireball and any other instant fire spells will not lit most things (it is somewhere in the DMG). So it depends on what plants create the entangling effects. Trees will definitely survive a fireball, unless it is a REAL dry season and even then only the dry underbrush will catch fire. Most grasses though will most likely be destroyed. If the briar entangle indeed makes plant grow, it will still mean that the spell effectively end (unless trees and big bushes provide the main means of entangling).
