Buffy [5-May-03]

I'm not even sure why Buffy is still hung up on him. I mean really, she hasn't seen him in years, and has had a few guys since.
Well, they did meet off-screen in early season 6 Buffy/season 3 Angel, when Angel learned she was alive again. Presumably, the meeting didn't go too well given that both returned home armed with comfort food.
Though, I always hated the idea that they would cast the same Curse on Angel each time. Why can't they research a Soul Spell that doesn't flicker off whenever he's happy? Why doesn't he go on the quest that Spike did?
Well, the first time it was more of a desperation thing. The second time, what with Willow being far more experienced and powerful, one might think that they could use a different version though.

But that that point, I doubt that Willow had time to research a new soul spell, with the First causing so much havok and all...

Toe, I'm with you on Kennedy. Hate her. She's a spoiled, brash brat, and nowhere near good enough for Willow. And her pre-sex speech came out of nowhere for her character. It was exactly the thing Will needed to hear, and would have drawn tears had Tara said it. But nothing Kennedy has ever done or said leads me to believe that she has that kind of sensitivity or perception, let alone level of emotional giving.

I know they probably won't kill another Willow lover, but I really wouldn't care if she bit it.

i never really hated Kennedy like everyone else did, but lately, i've kinda had this growing suspicion that she isn't who she says she is. she seems too pushy, a lil too manipulative (especially where Willow is concerned) and there's just this growing sense of ... wrongness about her.

it wouldn't at all surprise me if she'd been working for the First all along. or at least, up to no-good.

In it's own way, but she had years after the first time. All these folks were so worried about Angelus returning, but none of them ever did some research into Non Curse Soul Binding.

It's possible that every such spell has a catch. If the vamp lacks the will to get it himself, ala Spike, then Angel's curse or another spell like it may be the only way to go. And obviously, Angel could never go on that quest unless he already had his soul back, in which case it wouldn't accomplish anything. That is, if someone already having a soul is even allowed to undertake it.

I think that the whole happiness-if-I-have-sex-with-Buffy-and-turn-evil-again curse is actually gone.

Think about it, Angel's soul left his body and then returned again.... therefore the curse is gone.

Angel hasn't had a chance to test that out, of course, so how could he know? So I think he could have been doing the horizontal tango with Buffy all this time, but he never knew.

Which of course brings up something interesting... when fighting the Beast, they needed to take out Angel's soul. So why not bring Buffy up to L.A.... wham-bam-thank-you-slayer ... and Angeles is back again? At least take the opportunity, man! They only got to have sex ONCE!

:)

More than once if you count "I Will Remember You" from Season One of Angel. Granted Buffy doesn't recall the day, but Angel sure does. :p

OK, I do see the smiley, but still...
Back in Buffy Season 2, Willow used the same spell the gypsies originally used to reensoul Angel, and thus the same condition applies (Perfect happiness breaks the curse). This was also shown in an early episode of Angel, where someone slipped Angel some happy-pills which temporarily brought out Angelus again. I'm not sure, but I think she used it again on Angelus when she reensouled him this time - at least the spell used an Orb of Thessula, just like the other one.

It has also been established that having sex is not the thing that breaks the curse. Having sex with Darla didn't break it, because Angel wasn't perfectly happy. Like someone said a few months ago when they were going to bring back Angelus, "Right now, Angel is in a mental place where he could spend the whole weekend in bed with both Cordelia and Buffy, and still not achieve 'perfect happiness'." Thus, the need for the elaborate fantasy where everything worked out perfectly in order to reach that moment.
