Bull Rushed into a wall

Hi all,

I have a question about something that happened yesterday in our gaming session. My charcter had been disarmed by a dervish wielding a kusari-gama, and since he did not want to pick the weapon and draw an AoO, he bull rushed the guy straight into the nearest wall. Said wall was 5" away, and the result of the bull rush indicated 20", so the slam was rather violent, since he would have travelled another 15" across the wall if posssible.

Now, my character has improved bull rush and shock trooper, and when he bull rushes someone on a square already occupied by another character (domino effect), he gets to make a free trip attempt against both targets. Nevertheless, we were unable to find the proper way to handle the "bull rushed into a wall" situation. By the rules, there doesn't seem to be any penalty associated with being violently slammed into a solid surface.

Should the victim take some "slam" damage ? And if yes, how much of it ? With or without strength bonus, depending on the number of squares bull rushed or not ? Should the victim fall prone, or at least take a free trip attempt ? Is there a way to handle this by th books ? How would you handle this ?

I think a wall in the way of your bullrushed target should be treated the same as another character behind your first target, that means you should get your trip attack.
You may add something like falling damage, 1d6 for each 10ft. abobe the first 10., being pushed 15ft. 'through' the wall means 1d6 points of damage.
Not to unbalaning I think.

I always thought that when you bullrushed someone into someone else occupying a space the person became prone... so I would say the person bullrushed into the wall would be tripped.

The Bull Rush stops as if you could go no further, and the trip effect. There is no 'extra damage' applied according to the rules.

But if you didn't want to add it the damage, this isn't bad, but I would make it subdual damage instead of actual, or if you are feeling like it rushee is stunned. But then again, we should save that for the house rules forum.
