Bullrush/stunts vs weapon/implement attacks

I like stunts. I like PC's trying new and interesting things all the time. I like Bull Rush and other non-power attacks.

However, as printed, they fall FAR behind weapon/implement attacks. The game assumes the PC gains at least a +5 to attack with a magic weapon or implement by the time they hit 30th level.

I've considered a couple of solutions. I've thought about using the alternate bonus system from DMG2, where the bonuses are inherent to the character. I know that is an option in the CB, but I'm unsure about how it works out. Does it then disallow magic weapons? Is there a difference between a +1 magic sword and a +6 magic sword?

Another idea is a group of feats (perhaps given for free) that grant proficiency with bull rushes, stunts, and improvised weapons.

Is it just that I'm noticing these more often, or have stunting threads just started appearing a lot more often?

anyway,

is what I've given all the PCs in my group.

Regarding the system from DMG2, you can still use (and benefit from) magic weapons/armor/neck-pieces, though the bonuses do not stack. IOW, if your level 5 character (+1 inherent bonus) has a +2 sword, his bonus to attack and damage is +2, not +3. Because you're less reliant on enhancement bonuses however, the number of magic item parcels is reduced.

I give PCs inherent enhancement bonuses at the third and seventh level of each tier. I tend to give out less treasure, but it's just because I forget to; not because inherent bonuses make PCs meaningfully more powerful.

Presumably, this is similar to what the DMG2 suggests. Btw, what page is that on? I can't seem to find it.

For players stuck with RAW though, there are the Improved Bull Rush and Improved Grab feats which effectively make up for not having enhancement bonuses for those special attacks.
