Bummed about Reavers in DM Kit

Could use some good adventures. I just rad that Reavers looks good. Unfortunately, it is hidden inside a box set I have no need of owning. It would be great if WotC put out some adventures in print again some day.

As for Dungeon, those aren't adventures anymore. They are a couple of encounters thrown together.

If you don't have [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Slaying-Stone-Adventure-HS1-4th/dp/0786953888"]The Slaying Stone[/ame] yet, it is of similar quality to Reavers of Harkenwold (if shorter). It's a good value at $15.

I too heartily endorse Slaying Stone.

I like the fact that the adventure provides a lot of help to DMs who may be dealing with parties that don't approach an adventure premise in an orthodox and/or linear fashion.

Hey, don't write off the DM kit just yet. The adventure inside is indeed very awesome. And you also have to keep in mind the other things you get.

-A completely up to date and correct DM screen.
-All the maps and tokens for the adventure (Useful for other adventures).
-And a paperback handbook that is a great back-saver when it comes to away games.

All that for forty bucks isn't so bad, and it's even cheaper on Amazon.com with Super Saver free shipping.

Has anyone come across any way to actually get "Reavers of harkenwold" outside of the Kit? I have done a few ebay searches with no success. I'd really liek the adventure(s) and maps, as the OP said.

Me too... since I don't know what's up with the Nentir Vale Gazetteer that was supposed to have most of the info and maps of the Vale all collected in one place. I'd love to be able to get the maps and NPCs from Harkenwold since one of my PCs became the heir to the Barony via the red dragon adventure in the Dragon Magazine Annual. Yeah, I can make that stuff up myself... but I always figure that if the so-called "real info" is out there, I'd rather just use that. I like the Vale and want as much of the info together as I can get.

Put me on record saying Reavers is well worth the price for the DM Kit.

The tokens are a nice addition that can see use from me at encounters or one-shots, and also work well when I'm short on specific miniatures.

But Reavers does truly rock. My group's trudging through the second part right now and thoroughly enjoying it -- this from a group that doesn't normally care to play any modules. Heck, they didn't know it was a module until I held up the book to show a picture one night (I liked the picture of the warriors charging too much to ignore it).

Not sure how much it helps, but all the DM Kit maps (26 of them) are available in a zip archive on WotC's site. I always seem to forget that they make many of the maps available for download for DDInsiders.

D'oh! You're absolutely right! I completely forgot about them! Just went and grabbed them. Most are not really necessary for me per se... but the few of the village of Harken and Albridge, plus the close-up of the Harkenwold Barony itself are just want I wanted. Thanx for pointing them out! I appreciate it.
