I'm neutral about 4E and since I am the DM, we are playing 3.5E.

But I just *love* watching all the silly threads.

We had our first session tonight. In a 3-and-a-half hour session that involved character creation from scratch for a large group including D&D newbies, we actually got through putting characters together fast enough to spend the majority of the session playing, made it through our first combat without a hitch, and had time to reach town and put in another hour or so's role-playing around town.

I don't remember ever having a campaign start as smooth as that - and this is with a new system!

Or to put it more succinctly... BUMP.

I play C&C and port stuff when its interesting from all sorts of places. My interest is more on the effects of 4e and the GSL on the gaming market.

I've run four sessions of 4e and had great fun.

4e vs 3.x isn't a big deal. 4e vs non-WotC games is a bigger deal.
