Burning Man (now with pics, including a dragon!)

It's much, much closer to the time of the Man now. Thought I'd give this a bump.

It's worth the trip, lemme tell ya. ;) It's the strangest thing I've ever experienced, and I have been there and done that.

Odd. I went to that site. What a disorganized mess. They need a better marketing person. I couldn't find - when it was, where it was. I assume NW Nevada somewhere.

It's in the Black Rock Desert near Gerlach, NV. It begins August 29th this year iirc. :)

Communication with the site is achieved mostly through mailing lists.

Do people really bring children to Burning Man? I noticed that the site has a FAQ about kids at Burning Man. I've never been, but from what I've heard and the pictures I've seen, Burning Man just seems a little rambunctious in the adult kinda way for it to be a kid-friendly environment...

There are tons of kids there. People are highly respectful of children; yes, it's a sort of unlimited adult playground, but there are entire neighborhoods that are set up as 'kid zones.'

Funny story- my first year, as we were getting ready to leave, one of our neighbors, who was prolly about 7 years old came up to us and asked us if we had anything he could use to blow up his teddy bear with. It was so cute! ;)

Another bump, as it is nearly time. In the silly hope somebody else from here (other than my homies omrob, seance and Angel of Fire) are goin'.

I aspire to meet you all eventually... !

Oooh... less than a week til I leave, boy am I excited!!!

Today is my day to get prepped- I bought a new bike to take out there, got my megaphone working, need to clean house- breakin' for lunch at present.

If anyone works in the Reno area at a supermarket, let yer ordering guys know: anticipate about 40,000 people wanting 15-30 gallons of water each to come through Reno in the next week and a half! With gas so expensive, people are waiting to buy it til they're in your area....

*the Jester can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!* does a little dance      :p :D
