No, it's an event... a gathering of about 50,000 people in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada.

Good times!

It's pretty expensive to go, but well worth it.

If you get your ticket fairly early, it's about $280.00 for the ticket. You also need to bring EVERYTHING that you need for a week in the desert- tent, sleeping gear, clothing, costumes, food, water, shade. I usually spend around $1000/year on it.


Edit: But you can do it for ticket + gas + about $50 if you already have camping gear and if you've got access to a shade structure of some kind, as long as you don't mind being extremely minimalist.

Not at all, yet. I figured I'll see what my schedule is like before putting money down for equipment. I'd hate to buy or rent some gear then find out I have to change my plans.

Plan ahead, mang. Buy your ticket in April or so, then sock away a few bucks at a time. Other than the ticket and transportation, the cost isn't really that high. This year I'm gonna be going pretty damn broke. :\ But I'm going!
