True...True!
Now why didn't I think of that?

Archer said:Clerics can do the building thing too. They can create just as much stone as a wizard plus they shape it with a spell 2 levels lower than a wizard. I know from experience that a cleric can take a ruin and fix it up like new in a matter of days. Same goes for repairing and fortifying a city wall and all matter of handy construction projects that would normally take a huge number of workers a fair amount of time to complete ie Stonehenge. Construction ability rises exponentially with level.

In our campaign, the DM has stated that he sees no problem with us trying to get a home or base of operations. Problem is, our playing style is such that we never really stay in one spot for long. We usually rent a room at the local inn for months at a time and then usually crash there. In addition, I'm not sure if my group would be into the whole "keeping track of upkeep" thing. They're already paranoid if we did have a place of our own, that the DM would rob it, destroy it, invade it, etc. while our group has been away adventuring.
In regards to creating one magically, my DM has not really mentioned anything about this, since it really hasn't been brought up, but I have a feeling he wouldn't make it easy for our group.
