Bypassing DR

When it comes to DR (3.0e), what bypasses what? Specifically, does an Adamantine weapon bypass DR/+1, does a +1 weapon bypass DR/Adamantine. What about DR/Silver?

Thanks.

An adamantine weapon bypasses DR /adamantine.

A magic weapon bypasses DR /magic (not /+1).

A silver weapon bypasses DR /silver.

It just so happens that magic weapons are generally very common in D&D, so DR /magic is meaningless past a certain point.

EDIT: whoops, you were talking about 3E. In 3E, different materials don't do anything special IIRC; some things may have DR /silver.

I read the question as does an Adamantine weapon bypass DR/magic, perhaps relating to the SRD comment:

Adamantine is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below. Thus, adamantine weapons and ammunition have a +1 enhancement bonus on attack rolls

It's only +1 to hit, not damage, where the DR part would apply.

An magic weapon striking adamantine weapon (DR/-), the damage reduction would still apply. Even an adamantine weapon striking adamantine armor would still get the damage reduction.

A silver weapon is needed to bypass DR/Silver. A magic weapon won't help you there for overcoming DR.

Of course, this might be out the window for 3.0, I don't know the rules for that specific version.
