Calling out Robert J. Romano

I would like to invite everyone to visit the following link http://www.childrenofthegravepress.com/Newsletter.htm and then I would like for Robert J. Romano to explain his publicly hostile and disruptive attitude towards other D20 providers to the people that frequent these boards. As a "publisher," wouldn't it make more sense to try to make friends rather than enemies in the industry since you yourself are unpublished except for with your own "company?"

One more question - when will we see your first product on our hobby store shelves? Or are you publishing to RTF files only? I can't wait to use your expertly devised campaign setting.

Interesting, but can you be sure there wasn't at least some truth in what Robert said? In the interests of fairness, I tried to find the d20 forum Robert was talking about on his site, where he "called out" rival d20 companies, but there appears to be no such forum in his forum section. Could someone give me a direct link? I want to see what Robert's talking about before passing judgement.

BTW: Funny screen name.

That "argument" took place on these boards over four months ago. It was a stupid argument then and it's a stupid argument now. All that argument did was turn a bunch of professionals and professional-wannabees into "did not, did so" little kids. It's an argument that really doesn't need to be brought up again, and all your post here is going to do is bring out the "I hate Robert J Romano" posters.

Differences of opinion and business models are very common. As far as I'm concerned, every publisher can do whatever they want to do. If I like their product I'll buy it. If I don't like it, I won't. I don't really care about what their approach to the business is or whether or not they get along with each other, or whether they even like their fans. The only thing I can say with some certainty is that it doesn't do any publisher's image any good to be arguing in a public forum. Professionalism is not just about how well written or layed-out the game book is. :)

This discussion was closed when it originally arose, and it's being closed now. I've seen what it leads to. Sorry.
