Calm Emotions & its suppression ability

The second paragraph in the Calm Emotions spell description says that it "automatically suppresses (but does not dispel) any morale bonuses granted by spells such as bless, good hope and rage, as well as negating a bard's ability to inspire courage or a barbarian's rage ability. It also suppresses any fear effects and removes the confused condition from all targets."

I presume that this aspect of the spell does not allow any save against it, as is the case with a slow spell automatically cancelling out haste, and similar effects. Correct?

I would say "yes". I'm familiar with "suppress" being used in context with antimagic field, and that's how it works there, too.

I disagree. AM Field specifically does not have a saving throw; Calm Emotions does. Likewise, slow is specifically listed as "counters and dispels haste" (and haste has a matching listing for slow.

IF the spell takes effect on the target (ie., the save is failed), that target is affected. Each creature in the area of effect gets a save, and some may escape.

Does anyone know if the Frenzy Ability of the Frenzied Berserker, is affected by spells like Calm Emotion? The rules make no mention of anyway to supress it and while it is similar to Rage, its bonuses stack with range and the two operate more or less separately as far as I can tell.

I'm guessing dcollins is saying, "Yes, Calm Emotions would affect frenzy too." As you know, I agree. The description of situations where Calm Emotions applies is broad enough that I'd apply it to Frenzy too, which I tend to see as a very similar aspect to the barbarian's rage ability.
