Campaign flavor

Well, I like multiple factions. I like having multiple plots that seem mostly separate but tie together at various points. I like political intrigue. And I like campaigns that begin with multiple short stories but eventually grow into epic story arcs.

I'd have to say, then, that my biggest single influence is the TV series Babylon 5.

I have to chime in as another person that uses Bab 5 as a reference point. That and about three misguided years where I was taking Vampire way to seriously :).

I'm much better now, but my game worlds tend to get a little wierd.

Mega-ditto on B5. I've been watching a bunch of eps this past two weeks and getting all types of ideas, both for pacing, plotting, and many other things.

My two biggest influences in my campaign are Guy Gavriel Kaye and HP Lovecraft.

Big elaborate Byzantine empires with mosaic-covered buildings and opulent bathhouses and scheming nobles and merchants and almond-scented gardens --

--and flesh-eating ghouls from the Realms Beyond Sight.

Pielorinho, add dinosaurs to the mix and I've just found my soul-brother. Amen.

Last session ended with a little girl racing into the temple in which the PCs are holed up with a bunch of refugees, shouting,

"There's a dragon in the marketplace!"

She described it as huge, olive green, with big teeth and no wings.

Soul-brother!
