Campaign Managers AND PCGen

Derro

First Post
Two pronged question here.

1) I'm looking for a campaign manager that will run on OS X 10.4. I'd like it to be free if possible. I seem to remember a few programs from years ago but I was running a PC then and I doubt that most of them have a Mac version if they are still available.

I have started building a wiki at tiddlyspot.com but I think it will be a fairly long process. My programming skills are, shall we say, lacking refinement.

2) Is PCGen capable of helping me in this respect? I know it can be used to keep track of stats and the like but what about other stuff? My only real problem with PCGen is that I use tons of house rules. My previous experiments with PCGen were somewhat fruitless as a result of this.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Depends on what you area talking when you say "Other stuff" the GMGen client that comes with PCGen has some basic combat aides, and a tree'd system for notes and links to maps and such.

On the house rules, I have found very little that I can't do with PCGen, for instance I am working on a dataset for ShadowRun right now. But some of the more esoteric rule implementation does take knowledge of how the program works. But if you post to our PCGenListFileHelp yaho group there are many people willing to help and show you how do get the most out of PCGen.

Also the documentation that comes with PCGen has gotten TONS better in the last few years. Don't know when you left the PCGen fold but you still can't beat the price. :)
