Campaign Setting- Earth, year 2012

Very interesting alternate history. Just a few questions/suggestions.

First, definitely check out Spycraft and Shadowforce Archer. If you're doing espionage, there is no better system on the market. Shadowforce Archer includes good rules for psions and mystics.

Is Poland still "dirty" from the bomb? Radioactive wastelands, mutant animals, etc.? This would also be a cool way to introduce psionic activity to your campaign (the latent radiation activating some latent genetic tendencies among Europeans and Russians nearby).

Do remember that Israel was created by the Allies to give Jews a home after WWII. Given Russia's history with Jews, it is unlikely that they would do the same. Israel is now probably a part of another Muslim state in the area. You would need to review activity in this area closely if you want to simulate any actual history.

Are all of the alliances nuclear powers?

What is the status of the space program, both national and international? Given the significantly larger entities involved, I think it likely that we would be further along with space exploration. Possibly even a moon colony of some sort.

So, if Japan is the major military power of Asia, is that alliance primarily Communist or Imperialist? I think it would be very cool to return all the countries there to Imperial rule, with the alliance being a committee of divinely-appointed men.

Is there any kind of UN, or NATO? Are there global mega-corps that cross alliance boundaries?

Actualy this set up would be great for a psudeo supers world.

For example, the comic Red Star, would fit in this world nicely. The story is about a USSR that is still large and in charge, using psionics and technology to levitate and teleport large airbore carriers that level cities with thier psi-cannons. It's also a national secret that the revolution's "dead" leader is keeping himself alive off the souls locked in work camps. One of the guys designing the comic is The fellow who invented Darth Maul's double light saber. A very good read.

And if every coaltion has a supers team, it would be pretty easy to pick up themes and motivations.

hmmmm.

Played any RISK lately? ;)

It's too bad that there isn't an "Air Strip One" (aka Britian) with the North Americans. The Anglo-American Alliance is pretty strong, after all.

I've tried looking at the consequences of switching the sides round a little, but what's come up hasn't been great. If the LIS gets North Africa, and Europe keeps Central Africa, prospectas immediately look bad for SEC, as the nations of Southern Africa would probably go with Europe. I'm now investigating giving Europe the South of Africa, and Central Africa going to the South Earth...

EDIT: Corrected meaning changing sentence.

Interesting ideas... let me know what you come up with, personally, I'm still stuck for ideas regarding that.

OK, this one requires a minor revision of the timeline. This one assumes that the Legion of Islamic States-to-be were formed. Perhaps Western Europe was a little too busy at the time rebuilding themselves without the help of the Marshall Plan.

But Anyway, since North Africa was taken before Europe could regain control of the French and British colonies there, they had to look even further south. The British control of the continent was extensive, but if I were Europe, I'd be grabbing only the best colonies that I could in terms of Economic and Industrial Potential. However, since South America is also going about down there, I'd guess that the ones Europe is going to take are the East Coast ones. This makes for an...interesting map, to say the least, but I think it's the closest to real I can get.

Also, I did this one on my 1945 map, and since from what I can tell the Colonies were left more or less high and dry, I wasn't sure whether Pakistan and other countries would get independence from India. Of course with everyone else Joining the PFUR anyway, the only problem was Pakistan. However I decided against Independence in the end, so the region that is Pakistan is part of India, thus part of the PFUR.

And I jiggled around the colours of some powers.

Geography note

Sounds great!

Have one thought for you. '120 miles south of London' puts the German Army in the English Channel or at best France.

Thanks,
Rich

No problem. Any other problems, don't hesitate to call.;)

I was writing up more info for the setting, and I ran into a slight problem. With the new map you made, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out exactly which countries in africa are in which alliances. Could you give me a list of which countries went where on the map?
