IIRC, Dungeonscape also has a template that can be used to create intelligent oozes...It wouldn't be that stupid, would it? A roll of 3d6 gives the ooze an average of 10 or 11 Intelligence. That's not brilliant, but it's hardly "stupid".
Awakened oozes have feelings, too, you know!
