Can a human mulitclass gain a mc at will?

Hi there,
One of my players has asked this. As a human, and taking a multiclass feat (step 5 of char creation) can he then take an at will power from the class he mc'd into as his human bonus at will power (step 6).
Now the rules aren't totally clear, and I am happy to say yes (just say yes, my DM motto) however this might make humans extra powerful due to that large flexibility.
Any thoughts or official answers? I will Cust. Serv. this as well to see.
cheers

Nope. Multiclassing only qualifies you, in itself, for taking feats or paragon paths. Multiclassing doesn't let you take other powers; only powerswap feats let you do that. Human flexibility shows up at 11th level; if you choose to fully multiclass then you've got two at-wills from your initial class and a third from your new class.

having reread that line in the PHB I think you are right, thanks.

Officially, no. It might be a nice thing to allow anyway, though. There are a lot of cases where a human simply doesn't have any useful option for her bonus at-will; giving another way to spend it might go a long way towards making humans good at most or all classes instead of only a few.

Bonus At-Will Power: You know one extra at-will power from your class.

A character who has taken a class-specific multiclass feat counts as a member of that class for the purpose of meeting prerequisites for taking other feats and qualifying for paragon paths.

By the rules, you don't count as a member of your second class except for those two things, so it appears that a Human can't take an at-will power from his second class. I would allow it in any game I ran, though.
