Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Not "death saves", DEATH.</p><p></p><p>So yeah. Sorry. You can <em>white room</em> this all you want. Hit dice <em>are not</em> enough. They doubly so weren't enough in 5.0, when you only got back <em>half</em> of your hit dice on a long rest. Unless the martial characters were <em>double long resting ANYWAY</em> in 5.0, you 100% would run out of healing resources (that weren't burning permanent resources) very quickly, and damage simply outstripped that healing.
