Can anyone shed some light on.. well...light?

Hey all,

I remember a thread some time ago that suggested a variant rule for the levels of light and darkness and how the various spells manipulated them but with only Google to help me search for it, I'm a little stuck - does anyone know what I mean... and is there a link available?

Oh, and if you feel that I don't need to waste my time because you just happen to have the best damn light/darkness variant rule system, by all means - let me know what it is!

I'm afraid I don't remember the OP and I assume the thread was in House Rules (since it was a house rule system).

As for a time frame, I'm inclined to say anywhere between half a year to a year ago. I remember the system was based on a table something like this:

Utter Darkness
Shadowy Light
Regular Light
Total Brightness

And that the various spells basically moved the prevailing light conditions up and down the table.

I realize this really isn't anything to go on - and that's ok - I was really just taking a stab in the dark

I can't find anything on it, but the forum search is after all earning a bad rep lately.
