Can comprehend languages decypher code?

If a code is a language, I would think that comprehend languages would work. If it isn't, then it wouldn't. For example, if Tolkien had used his elvish language as a way to write his secret plans for world domination, then the spell would work on it, and your caster would uncover his machinations.

It still has it's original meaning. New uses of the words make context clues a touch more important so people know you refer to joyful happenings and peculiar goings on. Most folks will know when you are talking about a bundle of wood though the juvenile minded may still take mirth at such.
