Can PCs use monster items? If so, how?

Our two Dragonborn managed to "inimidate/charm" a group fo kobolds into submission....including one Kobold Slinger ~ Rukk Rukk (who actually has not joined the party in their adventures. The mythology I gave the special shots were....well, that they came from the Kobolds themselves...

Immobilization shot - from their snot that they gathered over the course of a week.

Smellshot - well, from a collection of their bowel excrement from over the course of a week.

Firespot - I have no idea...from the hair off their back or something?

Regardless, it takes about a week to form one shot, and each shot decomposes in about three weeks, so at any given time, they can only have three shots. Heh.

The "expiration date" is important, because you don't want players hoarding a supply of glue/whatever to use any time they want (unless, of course, you treat them as real treasure or magic items and take their value into account when assigning treasure).
