Can Psions in the Expanded Psionics Handbook manifest healing powers yet?
I'm sick of Psions being just wizards. Surely it makes sense for a Psion to be able to manipulate the molecular structure of a living being in order to heal its wounds.

Don't talk to me about the Spiritual in Mindscapes -- that's a weak attempt to address this problem.

You may want to take a look at Green Ronin's Psychic's Handbook (http://www.greenronin.com/cgi-bin/product.cgi?prodid=1306). The psychic class is very different from a wizard or sorcerer, or from psions. I was less than impressed with the Psionics Handbook, with or without the various 3rd-party "fixes" I've seen recommended, but I've been happy with the GR entry.

edit: Forgot to mention, there are rules for psychic healing in this book.

I'd created a feat called 'Psychosomatic Healing' for a psionics-heavy/divine-light campaign that allowed a psionic character to heal another character. If the PC that was healed took additional damage that same day, then he had to make a Will save with a DC of the amount healed. If he failed, he lost the healed points in addition to the new damage. If the PC made the save, or made it to the next day without taking damage, he was out of the woods.

Was kind of fun, if a little dangerous for the forgetful player.

Oh, and welcome to EnWorld! :D

As of the XPH, Psions have access to a very simple self-healing power, a temporary hit points power, and a couple of powers that involve "sharing" hit points.

There's no real healing. Honestly, it would be hard to balance healing powers with their other formidable abilities. (Already they're much more versatile than sorcerors, with no penalties for wearing armor.)

But it would be very cool for someone to create a psionic healer. I'd definitely keep it as a separate class, but there's no reason not to do it. The XPH is going SRD soon enough, so I'd be surprised if some enterprising soul doesn't create the very class you're looking for.

WotC has a regular portion of their site that focuses on psionics, called "The Mind's Eye". Almost two years ago, they had a section detailing new psionic powers for healing. This is for the 3E PsiHB, but there should be very little trouble using it under the XPsiHB rules.

The Egoist can transfer others' wounds to himself. Since any Psion can learn self-healing abilities, you can get a jury-rigged heal other ability by combining the two. The Egoist can also effectively Raise Dead if he is VERY fast, with the Psionic Revivify power. And they can Restore Extremity (limb, finger, etc.). And they have Restoration.

So yes, there is a psionic healer. Not as effective as a cleric, but better than nothing.
