D&D 5E (2024) Can Valor Bard make 2 attacks plus a cantrip at 14th level?

I just noticed the way their Extra Attack and Battle magic features are phrased, and it really looks like you could use your Attack action to make one attack plus cast a one-action cantrip, and then since you just cast a qualifying spell use your bonus action to make another attack.

That's actually really good (possibly OP by 2014 standards, but probably okay in 2024) if you are allowed to use 2014 green-flame blade or booming blade, because then you are making 3 attacks, one with extra scaling damage, plus extra conditional damage. It's even better than 2014 Eldritch Knight's War Magic at high levels, and from levels 11-16, War Magic leveraging those cantrips was better than just making all your extra attacks. (Of course, 2024 Eldritch Knight can make 4 weapon attacks with the extra cantrip damage added on, so they also got super-buffed that way).

Now, green-flame blade and booming blade are straight up better weapon attack cantrips than anything in 2024, so they will likely be updated and nerfed in one of the Forgotten Realms books coming out, but as it is, the combo looks really good.

Have others noticed this? Or am I misinterpreting the text? A quick search didn't find any discussions about it anywhere.

Yes it's working as intended. Its level 14 though.

Note that a fighter can make 5 or 6 attacks a round by this point. Dual wied paladin can do 4 and gain extra d8 radiant damage since level 11.

I would not agree that Booming Blade and Green Flame Blade are objectively better than Truestrike. They are situationally better, but I think Truestrike is generally better for 4 reasons:

1. Works at reach with reach weapons
2. Works with ranged weapons and thrown melee weapons
3. Uses spell casting modifier for attack roll and base damage
4. Allows choice of damage type and Randiant is more reliable than BPS, Fire or Thunder.

As far as your observation regarding a Cantrip, attack and bonus aciton attack, yes it is true. You can add in a 4th attack if using a light weapon a nick weapon and have nick through a feat.

I'm sure you're right. I was really only speaking in context of raw DPR, which isn't the full equation.
