At the risk of this post being almost spam, I thought ENWorlders might be interested to know: chapters.indigo.ca has D&D products on sale for as much as 53% off for August 4th only! Given that Chapters.ca prices tend to be competitive with Amazon.ca, this sale might be cheapest D&D can be purchased (new) for.

Worth pointing out: For today, the OD&D White Box reprint is only $81.70 (regular $172)! (All the other sale products are from the 5E line.)

Thanks for the XP to everybody who rep'd me! I can honestly say I ordered one of everything but the Starter Set--because I already own it. Also, from what I can tell Chapters doesn't adjust your preorder price if the price drops since you preordered. (Exception: if the price drops with 14 days of your preorder, they'll honour it.)

$27 plus free shipping for a 5E Player's Handbook? Hell yeah! Also Chapters shipped Starter Sets lat month even before Play Network stores could sell them, so this sale might get you a copy in a hurry too.

I'm guessing WotC slapped some fingers for the early release of the Starter, as it doesn't look like the Player's is going to be in anyone's hands from Indigo by Friday, let alone before that.

It's a nice price, but I want to read the book next weekend, and the only way to guarantee that is by getting it from my fairly friendly but not at all local WPN game store.

Hard to say; it could still make it to some folks by Friday if Chapters ships it first thing tomorrow morning. I sorta suspect WotC had nothing to do with any shipping "delays" ("lack of advanced shipping" would be more accurate), since Chapters has a history of shipping D&D stuff before release date as far back as the 4E release, with no apparent repercussions. This weekend has been weird for shipping too: today is a holiday for most of Canada, but as far as I know Americans have no corresponding day-off. Anyway, if I get it by early next week, I'll still be happy. It'll still be one week before street date, and I only paid $27 for it. :D

Thanks for the update. Just saved another $15! Wish they had the pre order price guarantee like amazon.

Speaking of amazon.ca, they have price matched all the books (at this sale price) except the PHB.

Thanks! Yesterday, I ordered every book I could find on this site.
I even ordered the Deluxe DM Screen. :-)

Thanks again for the tip. Today, the rebate is only 50% instead of 53%.
