Can't reach the USPS website?!

So, I had a package shipped via Priority Mail. At work, I logged onto usps.com and tracked the package (not much info yet.) I wanted to check it again tonight. However, for some reason, I can't access the USPS website from home, and I haven't been able to for a day or two at least. That's really, really weird. Any ideas on what's causing it?

A couple of things come to mind: A physical break between the part of the 'net you're on and the part USPS.COM is on (some idiot with a backhoe somewhere he shouldn't have been, frequently), or possibly some piece of spyware junk is messing with the HOSTS list on your system.

Are you having any problem getting anywhere else? Google? Yahoo?

The .gov site doesn't work either. And no, I haven't had trouble connecting to anywhere else that I've noticed.

If I post my tracking number, can anyone tell me where my package is? :heh:

I got this when I used that tracking number:

Current Status

You entered 0180 5213 9075 7514 4561

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on February 23, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

It tells me:

"The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on February 23, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

Just in case that means as much to you as it did to me!

Q. What does it mean when I check on my electronic rate Delivery Confirmation or Signature Confirmation service mail piece and I receive a message that says "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on May 30, 2002 at 10:31 p.m. to expect your package for mailing?"
A. When you mail a shipping label using electronic rate Delivery Confirmation or Signature Confirmation services, the mailing information for your label is electronically sent to the Track & Confirm database. This information, in the form of an electronic file, is often consolidated and sent at one time during the day, often in the evening. This step indicates intent to mail an item, not the actual mailing date or time itself. Confirmation services do not provide actual mailing or acceptance information as part of the service offering. Confirmation of delivery or attempted delivery is provided.
