I'm down the road a bit from you, over in Asheville. I only know one Haywood County-based gamer at the moment, but I'll be sure to point him to this thread in case he knows of anyone else.
Also, if you feel like making the commute, the Asheville Gaming Society meets at Pastimes on Merrimon Avenue in Asheville every Tuesday night from 7 to 10 pm. New games start every month, but the next month's games are usually announced at the last session of the month (which is this coming Tuesday, August 31st).
If a weekly commute is too much, both Pastimes and The Sword and the Grail (in downtown Asheville on Biltmore Avenue) have methods for gamers to find each other. Pastimes has a notebook where gamers can leave their info (you'll have to ask an employee about it), and Sword and Grail has a bulletin board. Both stores have gaming space where you might also meet gamers.
