CArc: Seeker of the Song question

First Post
The Seeker of the Song music Song of Unmaking states

"...She can expend a use of bardic music and make a Perform check to deal 1d8 points of damage per seeker level to all constructs within a 30-foot radius burst..."

Now, I'm not extremely familiar with bards, so it may be described in the core rules, but what would the DC of this effect be?

Why would you need a DC?

Does the ability mention that you can save for half damage?

From what you've quoted, it appears that the bard does the listed damage, no ifs, ands, or buts. :)

yes but what is the DC of the Peform check? I just states "make a Perform check". OK I rolled a perform check....how do I know if I'm successful?

The weird thing is that even though the ability description says that you need to "make a Perform check", it never mentions any DC or anything you have to achieve with the Perform check. Looks like the result of the check is irrelevant.

sorry I should have said "what is the DC of the Performance check", instead of "What is the DC of the effect?" Can see where the confusion came in.

If the result of the performance check is irrelevant, why make it in the first place?

My guess is that in the initial formulation of the ability, it was going to have a saving throw with a DC equal to the Perform check.

The saving throw was taken out, but the Perform check text was left in.

Just a guess, though; it could really be anything.

What Crothian said. In order to use the ability, the bard has to use the Perform skill he has 15 ranks in, and there are a lot of circumstances which can make that a problem.
