D&D 5E Careful spell metamagic and the Web spell

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. Does Web works with the careful spell trait? And if so, does the metamagic prevents the chosen allies from getting stuck in the web (by automatically succeeding in the saving throw) until the spell lasts or just on the first round? The wording is pretty vague and refers to spells that "forces other creatures to make a saving throw". I'm unsure if this means any saving throw triggered by a spell to resist its effect or just those with an immediate effect, e.g. Fireball. That would exclude spells the create an effect on a zone that then requires saving throws to navigate through it. I'm interested in RAW and RAI. Thanks for any contribution.

By my reading of RAW, Careful Spell would indeed allow you to cast a Web spell wherein your Careful Spell targets automatically ignore the restraining effects of the Web. However, they would still be affected by the difficult terrain that the Web creates. This is based on the fact that Careful Spell only says that when you cast the spell you have to designate the targets of Careful Spell. It does not say that it only affects a saving throw made when cast.

Frankly, I expect that this is the sort of thing that Careful Spell was intended for. It's pretty bad in conjunction with something like Fireball, since your allies still take half damage. However, it seems like it could be a highly effective combination when used with Web.
