If it is true, to my knowledge it'd be the first bit of Carl Sargent news since about 1994. What happened to this guy in the mid-90s is a bigger D&D mystery than what happened to Dave Trampier.

Here's hoping he's still with us. He was an enormous talent.

9 times out of 10, when someone declares you dead on Wikipedia, it turns out to be nothing. :) But then there's always that 10th time, so I just had to check and make sure. Nothing at all about it on the internet, so I figure it was nothing.

Of course, they also declared the death of Dave Arneson a few days before he actually died, so again, you never know...

Only thing I recall is Sean Reynolds saying he was permanently unable to work due to a car accident. Guy is pushing 60 now, so if he hasn't recovered enough by now to work he's probably not going to. Hopefully his quality of life is bearable, at least!

This would truly be a sad day if it is true. His work was some of the best RPG writing ever. I've fired off an email to the only person I know that is in a position to verify this, and will post whatever I find out.

I remember this happening with Tony Banks of Genesis a few years ago (I was the one to revert the change); two years later hundreds of thousands of people could see him alive and well on tour with Phil and Mike.

I'd bet heavily against it being true without some sort of further corroboration.

Eric...this may shed some light to the probable cause.. Wait...it looks to be a old entry.
