Carnivale 3/6/05 (spoilers!)

I didn't see a thread on this yet... I'm not even sure how many people are watching it here, given it's on HBO.

Sofie and Justin... creepy! Sofie is the Omega? Maybe Justin and Ben both die by her hand, and she becomes the Avatar of Balance? Keeping in mind of course that Justin isn't an Avatar yet, since he hasn't killed the old Avatar of Evil, presumably Scudder. Whereas of course Ben is, as evidenced by the blue blood from his nosebleed.

Speaking of Ben... the whole story with him, Jones, and Libby was incredible. Especially Libby's look at Ben at the end, and Jones' happiness. Mayhap the Carnivale will be learning that Ben is the Avatar of Light? Also, kind of ironic that they tar and feather Jones, and the death of all those birds provides the life to heal him.

Finally, is Iris just playing Norman, or will she actually betray Justin?

I'm following it, and I'm glad to say I enjoyed this show much more than the previous two episodes. The scenes with Jonesey, Libby, and Ben were cool, albeit a bit predictable. Once he got messed up, I knew it would be Ben for the Heal. I am glad they're advancing plots considerably now. Jonesey's aware of Ben's powers now firsthand, and from the previews it looks like he'll be his number one guy to get things done. Good thing, as Justin has him way outnumbered on minions. =)

We don't have any idea what Sofie is to become, although she's on the path to having lain with both sides, Light and Dark, so it could be one of those mother of prophetic child deals. Plus there are all the early dream words spoken to her: "Each prophet in her own house." *shrug*

It's getting more and more interesting the way things are going.

I hope that the series is able to run it's whole course without issue.

Looking forward to seeing this on DVD as opposed to borrowed from my friend's VHS due to lack of cable.

I was on the edge of my seat while watching the episode. I almost cried at what happened to Jones and cheered what Ben did. I'm not so sure about Sofie being the Omega. Maybe it means she'll be the only one standing afterwards.

Well I don't have a clue about the Omega, but is Sofie not possibly Ben's sister. There was that scene with Scudder raping her mother. I am not sure why Lod's is choosing the snake lady to give these messages too.

And I do not feel that Iris is playing Norman, I think she has been personally offended by Alexi on some level maybe she is jealous I am not sure but I believe her sincere in her attempt to ally with Norman.

Doesn't Scudder seem kind of...anti-climactic we thought he was this big bad powerful evil guy and he hasn't done crap, albeit he is sedated at the moment.
