I have a few questions regarding the Carpet of Flying (Wondrous Item from the DMG).
1. For the speeds listed, wouldn’t that take the place of a character’s movement for the round?
2. If that speed is considered a move equivalent action could the character double move, hustle, and run?
3. Could a character charge while on a carpet of flying? Spring Attack?
4. Would you allow a tumble check on a carpet of flying?
5. Would you require any sort of balance or ride check? My thoughts are no because in the item description it says that the spells used are Fly and Permanency and those used on any other item (boots, gloves, cloak, etc…) would never be considered as needing a ride or balance check. (Now that I think of it, a cloak of flying would be pretty cool… ala Superman!
