Gary Gygax’s Castle Zagyg: New Covers! Sample Preview!
LITTLE ROCK, AR – February 22, 2005 – Troll Lord Games is pleased and honored to announce that the art of Jeffrey Jones will grace all seven covers of Gary Gygax’s Castle Zagyg series. Jeffrey Jones has long been one of the premier fantasy painters and illustrators of our day. His paintings grace the covers of a host of books penned by the likes of Fritz Leiber, Robert E. Howard, Karl Edward Wagner, Michael Moorcock, L. Sprague de Camp and Jack Vance. Jeffrey Jones’ credits extend into the comic book arena where he had regular features in Heavy Metal and National Lampoon.
All seven covers can be viewed at the Troll Lord Games website.
“Jeffrey Jones has long been one of my favorite painters,” remarked Stephen Chenault of Troll Lord Games. “His paintings are evocative, rife with subtle, yet very raw emotion. They capture the very essence of epic fantasy. The lone hero, undaunted, struggling against a chaos he can only hope to master, brings to mind all the great figures of epic fantasy fiction. His early art is classic fantasy art, it was a natural choice for the covers of this most epic of Dungeons and we are very grateful to Mr. Jones for this opportunity and honor.”
Gary Gygax, who was recently ranked #37th in SFX Magazine's list of top 50 greatest SF pioneers, was quite pleased with the choice.
