Anyone else go through the players guide yet? If you haven't Drivethrough has it for free as a PDF. No idea how long that will last.

I'm pretty impressed by it so far. Of course when the actual book comes out this month (is it out yet?) will be the real telling piece of information. I really like the races. THey have the normal ones with very interesting twists. I want to read more as just seing the mechanical bits is not all that telling. I like the basic hook of the setting. I love mysteries and this setting is ripe with them.

Can you tell us more? I've never heard of this one (of course seems there's LOTS I have not heard of these days :\ ) ....

Looks like the campaign setting has an interesting built-in plot hook [finding the hidden mysteries of the past] but it's not all-encompassing like Midnight [or it's not with my initial glance at the brief synopsis I read before], which is good.

I'll check it out more in detail once I stop being lazy and go looking for it or someone gives me a link. ;)

So it's not all set around one big castle, like Gormenghast? (That's what I always surmised based on the "Castle" in the name of the setting)

Gormenghast is a setting based around a castle? Was it a good setting? I've never heard of that setting before.

The Gormenghast Trilogy is a classic trilogy of novels by Mervyn Peake set in a huge castle (and outside it in the third book) full of very weird people. Highly recommended reading. AFAIK, it hasn't been turned into an RPG.

I liked the Castlemourn player's guide. The setting has an interesting backstory and some nice little bits in the descriptions of the countries etc. Not sure whether I'll buy the whole book though: I don't really NEED another setting.

Cheers

Richard
