Catwoman and Bourne Supremacy

Gee, I see The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi is out in limited release...time to check my listings!

Excellent film! I managed to get an import DVD a few months ago. I'm a big fan of the original series, so I was a bit worried that they were planning a continuation of the character. While it isn't as good as the originals, it comes close.

The only bad point is the cgi blood. They tried to get a "Lone Wolf And Cub" blood spraying effect, but it looks too fake. Instead of the blood dropping, it sort of dissipates in the air, making it look like video game blood.

I just can't figure out why they would make HB a costume that was so unsexy. Michelle Pheifer gave me fanboy wet dreams for months after Batman Returns, with her tight, sleek, shiny, black leather and dominatrix look...grrrr! Oh excuse me there, anyway Halle's outfit make me wonder if she is less hot than I thought she was. That's probably not possible but damn that outfit sucks!

I actually think she looks pretty sexy in the outfit, until you hit her knees. She looks odd wearing what amount to pants and high heels. It's a superhero costume, the laws says you have to wear boots!

BTW, where the heck did you get your avatar? It looks so familiar it's bugging me.

Hallie, may be beautiful (maybe nothing, she is superfine) and maybe she can give a solid supporting role, but she is no leading actress, not by a long shot. I did not see her in Monster, but in Xmen, she does nothing special for the character and in the Bond flick, she did ok, but how hard is it to be a bond girl, after all Denise Richard's did it (another very beautiful woman). Despite her beauty, I do not think she has on screen charisma.

My big concern is that our own John Rogers has his name to it, I know the script was rewrote (a few times) but still... :(

Halle has done better movies, but she isn't an action star. She was really good in Losing Isaiah. She was good in Monster's Ball. She is not a very good action star. She just doesn't come off as a tough woman like say Angela Basset, Sigourney Weaver, or Linda Hamilton. She is a much better dramatic actress, and I think in the right role she can carry a film.

John Rogers? Of jonrog1 fame? I didn't know that. Looks like he's one of three credited screenwriters, while there are three other credited with the story.

Would not be a bit surprised to see him drop by with a comment or two...I hope.

Based on what I'm reading review wise I wouldn't admit to having anything to do with it if I was involved. I read one good review but I'm not sure if it was serious or if the person was able to read that much into the flick.

It does sound like the claim in a few reviews of "screenplay by committee" is particularly apt in this case. Three folks credited with the story and three other folks credited with the screenplay (and Bob Kane credited with the characters) is a committee if I've ever seen one.
