Hael orients himself before climbing on the back of his flying bat. Finding that there seems to be but the one large tunnel that heads east out of the Lower Bar, and that for the moment at least there are no other side branches or crevices indicating alternate paths, Hael invites Zarra to join him atop his flying beast. With a series of clicks as commands, Hael instructs the bat to glide upward. The tunnel height in this section is 20 feet; due to the many stalagmites on the floor, boulders, and stalactites hanging from the tunnel ceiling, neither Hael nor Zarra have an unobstructed view down the tunnel.
K'yorl, having bid Hael to stow the drider head until this evening, collects her robes and begins to pluck her way down the rocky tunnel, followed by Lyssa, Ardyth, Alex, Blite, and Prixo. Attentive and with his bow at the ready, Prixo keeps his eyes sharp and his ears pricked for any sign of pursuit or trouble ahead.
The trek is slow going. Given the terrain, the many obstacles that must be climbed over or walked around, and the general unevenness of the terrain, after one hour of walking, Zarra and Hael determine that the party has probably covered roughly one mile.
I put the time at 10 pm. Give or take.
