Ardyth : Female Human Wizard 10

Ardyth pulls a small bugle from her pack.

"When we are ready to leave, I will try and cover our escape with this."

Initiative:

Prixo 23
Zarra 19
Drider
Alex 15
Drider
Hael 12
Ardyth 9
Orog
Lyssa 8
Spiders
K'yorl 6
Blite 4
Drider

You may post out of order. I will resolve initiative according to the schedule above after everyone has gotten in a post. If you do not post during combat within a 24 hour period, I will NPC your character for that round.

The orog watches Blite approach, its eyes flitting back and forth between the minotaur, Prixo, and K'yorl. The orog does not shrink from Blite's presence but neither does it press its case. K'yorl, pausing to examine the diminutive knives and blades on display at a merchant stall, flicks her eyes around the market and quickly zeroes in on the Drider 1 tailing the party just a stalls down. Though Drider 1 appears for all intents and purposes to be busy haggling with a merchant, the fact that there are no other drider in the vicinity and that drider almost never frequent Szith Morcane more than makes the creature stand out.

K'yorl does not spot the two drider on the ceiling...yet

When questioned by K'yorl as to who is following the party, why, and what business of his is it, Queastag the orog looks nervously at Blite and at the drider scuttling toward the party and hisses, "Nasty spiderssss...Queastag know way out, you need way out, Queastag make money?" The orog points a finger up at the ceiling and flashes a signal to Prixo, K'yorl and Blite that something else lingers up above. To K'yorl's ear, the greasy orog seems to be interested in what he deems to be a money-making venture.

Thus far, beside Prixo, K'yorl, and Blite, only Ardyth and Hael have overheard the orog's offer.

Lyssa quickly ignites the greedy nature of the merchants and six of them motion to assistants to tend the stalls before backtracking down the byway to accost Drider 1. Drider 1, now surrounded on the front and two sides by six anxious money-grubbing merchants, looks full on at the party and with menace aforethought and murder in its eyes, sidesteps the gaggle of merchants and climbs up the side of a nearby shopfront, apparently heading full on toward the party.

Everyone has now spotted Drider 1. Zarra and Lyssa have spotted Drider 2, Drider 3, and the multiple spiders, all with red flashes on their outer chitine, up on the ceiling. The orog has just pointed up to the ceiling to indicate something may be up there...Prixo, K'yorl, Blite, Ardyth, and Hael will need to look up before confirming a foe lies in wait from above. Alex is therefore currently the only one who hasn't seen or isn't likely to see Drider 2 and Drider 3 up on the ceiling this round.

With regard to the attached .jpg, please click on the thumbnail to enlarge it. The map is in 5ft scale. Square W3 should be marked D2, for Drider 2, not D3. That's an error on my part, sorry. There's a map key at the bottom that I'm hoping will help you with details.

Lyssa Gloaming Rogue/Fighter/Sorcerer

Slapping the leather of her wand case, Lyssa pulls out a short rod of yellowish crystaline material and points it at the driders above saying, "Kundrithly" which sounds like gibberish, but the resultant blast of fire is quite impressive. "I'm bored with shopping, let's be on our way."

OOC: Working without a map, but assuming from previous descriptions that ceiling is high enough to leave the party and innocent bystanders out of the blast radius. Lyssa tries to hit both Driders and any spiders that can be caught as well. It is a 6d6 fireball.

Zarra quickly looks at the others and says "More above! Lets get out of here, fast!" While pulling out her rapier and putting her backpack back on.

Prixo was suspicious of the orog's offer, especially when he didn't see anyone following. (ooc: sense motive +1) I don't know who to trust around here. He could lead us right into a trap. Even my fellow 'volunteers' are only allies as long as it is more in their interest to cooperate than to compete. Who knows, even if we are being followed, it may be enemies of Mistress Morcane - and I have no reason to be loyal to that one.

When dwarf points out the drider, Prixo draws his bow and knocks an arrow. He looks around, trying to spot more "spiders" or suspicious characters, and prepares to defend himself. I hate to waste this, but we could use information.

(ooc: draw poisoned arrow as move action, ready an action to fire on anyone who attacks the party.)

"What's that? You want to see how iron feels splitting your face? Hael Boudin, at your service."

Seeing as the driders go first Hael will react partially depending on the situation, hurling the throwing axe at the nearest unengaged drider and then flying to engage, drawing his magic axe as he goes. If a drider has dropped on a party member Hael's movement will take him to engage that one in melee.

Looking back to Ardyth, Alex looks to get her reaction to the approaching danger. If she looks to want to stay and fight he will protect. If she tries to flee, he will reluctantly escort her to safety.

(Is the one drider I see armed? If so I ready a disarm, if not I ready an attack.)

Hearing Zarra's shout, Blite glances up at the spiders and other Driders.

With a roar of anger, Blite runs towards the nearest Drider he's able to reach, drawing his greatsword as he goes (or just drawing and taking a 5ft step if there's one within 15ft by his action).

Putting his mighty weight behind the blow, he tries to cleave the unnatural creature in two.

K'yorl draws the protection of the Dark Mother upon herself [casts Sanctuary], and withdraws the wand of cure moderate wounds from her haversack.

If there is a melee in her immediate vicinity by the time things roll around to her, she will also take a 5 ft. step away from it.
