Stat block should probably have "Ghost" listed in the creature type somewhere, so readers who don't immediately recognize the template powers won't be wondering why a goblin warrior is incorporeal. :)

When I suggested the change I was hoping it would have a more unaminous vote. Any more opinions? I really prefer this version (Zombiefied duegar, 8 rats and a swarm of centipedes).
The zombie Duergar is CR 1/2, the rats 8 x CR 1/8 = CR 1, the centipede swarm is CR 4. Total EL is about 5, which is fine. You should probably change the 8 rats into a rat swarm though... no sane DM wants to keep track of eight very minor opponents in combat if there exists a good alternative mechanism.

Note that now you've turned the encounter pretty much on it's head, with the insect swarm being the major opponent, the rats being nothing more than a nuisance, and the zombie will likely go down in one round. I think I liked it better the other way around, i.e. the zombie being more prominent, the insect swarm being just a nuisance. The zombie should not be too far outmatched compared to the rats, because otherwise he won't survive long being eaten (well, perhaps "survive" isn't quite the right word here...)

I also like the idea of the dugar being in control of the chef and deliver him food from the store room.
Delivering him food, sure, but I don't see how a CR 1/2 or even CR 2 mindless zombie would be in control of a CR 5, intelligent ghost. Do you mean the other way around?

Anyway, let me know. And I guess it is not "small" as I said it would be... ;)
Welcome aboard Drew ! ;)

When I saw the high quality map, I thought "Hmmm... VERY nice, but did he do it using someone else's software ?". And then I went to the URL in your sig, and sure enough, you did it all. You are the owner of everything you used to make that map, right ?

I'm satisfied with it. Now I want the other's opinion on it (the design team, especially Mark who does the PDF conversion and publishes it through CMG). If everyone is happy, that map will be used in CD3 (I might even ask you to do the map in CD2, as it is not published yet), and you will receive credits for rendering the map ( I *did* create the rooms and furniture ;)).

I just noticed that room 13 was 15 feet wide! That makes it to where the Wraith can attack anyone who enters the room from the ice block! Definately makes it a retreat and think encounter!

I use CC2 for many of the objects, which I have a fully paid for copy of. For the floor I used a freeware bitmap, which can be used for commericial projects (Which this is not, but just in case). Editing was done in Photoshop, which I also have a paid for copy of.

I just did it using your map, I did not print out the room descriptions... WIth those finalized I can add a bit more detail. I only have some 2000 or so symbols... :D

If you want me to do the 2nd one as well, that is fine. Just let me know!

Glad you liked it.

Drew

I want an underground dwelling creature that could fit in a box though, so I'm stuck what could it be? Ettercap? Xill? Also I want some king of grub like creature, I'd love a carrion crawler but I can't (not in SRD) and I can't remember it's CR. But swarms are good.

Looks good to me. Whatever you think is best. You're the lead developer! :)

I'd kind of wonder too why 8 rats would attack humanoid characters. I suppose you could make the swarm or the rats some kind of undead version of the creature. Maybe a swarm of rat skeletons or zombies or something.
