Celestial and Half-Celestial Template questions

What is the Advancement Level (or whatever it is called) for a Celestial and a Half-Celestial? Basically, what level creature are they considered?

I need to make up a level 5 character and I am allowed to use these templates. I want to make a Bard, but I don’t know what level Bard I can make if his race is Celestial and Half-Celestial.

Also, what is the difference between the two races? I looked on the SRD and it seems to me that Half-Celestials get more abilities then Celestials (they get pluses to ability scores and such). Shouldn’t a full blooded Celestial be stronger then a Half-Celestial?

Another question… Can I choose a second race for each of these? Like could I have a Celestial Elf Bard or a Half-Celestial Elf Bard? Or is Celestial considered a race all it’s own?

The Level Adjustment for a Half-Celestial is from +3 (DMG) to +5 (Dragon). Personally, I peg them at about +4.

The Level Adjustment for a Celestial is about +2.

This is entirely up to your DM, so be sure to ask him.

A celestial creature is one that is native to the upper planes of good. For example, a celestial human. They should not be confused with Celestials, which are the angelic beings of power on the uppper planes.

A Half-Celestial is the child of a mortal and an angel, so they are more powerful than a human born on a celestial plane.

The templates both must be applied to another race. You cannot have just a half-celestial, he needs to be half-somthing else.

(Does anyone else wish they would call "celestials" angels and get it over with? It even mentions in MotP that they are often called angels, and that's a lot clearer to people living in a judeo-christian or islamic culture, which probably includes most D&D players.)
