So I am working on a Build for my Dark Sun Halfling Celestial Warlock-Tempest Cleric
At 14th level (Cleric 8/Warlock 6), this character is going to have the Booming Blade Cantrip, Divine Strike from being a Cleric and Radiant Soul from Celestial Warlock.
I have two questions:
1. Does Divine Strike (Radiant) from the Cleric trigger Warlock Radiant Soul damage bonus when I cast Booming Blade?
Wording from Blessed Strike-Divine Strike:
Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with an attack roll using a weapon, you can cause the target to take an extra 1d8 Necrotic or Radiant damage (your choice)
Wording from Radiant Soul:
Once per turn, when a spell you cast deals Radiant or Fire damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to that spell’s damage against one of the spell’s targets.
So if I attack with Booming Blade and I hit that does 1d8 Radiant Damage from Blessed Strikes-Divine Strike - Does that count as a "spell you cast deals Radiant damage"
2. How does the new Divine Strike damage types mesh with the Tempest Cleric Divine Strike. The Tempest Cleric version does Thunder damage which is a lot more thematically appropriate. The PHB says: "if you get either option from a Cleric subclass in an older book, use only the option you choose for this feature"
What does that mean RAW? Do I get to choose Radiant, Necrotic or Thunder or is Thunder not a choice any more? Sounds like RAW only Radiant and Necrotic are options.
