Celestial Chainmail

Aright i have a Rogue with A 30 dex (+10). But Celestial chainmail is +8 max dex and -2 armor check. Now could i just get a chain shirt like that.

Up to the DM. As written, Celestial Armor is generally chainmail.

You could ask maybe for mithril celestial chainmail, or have Celestial Chainmail with the nimbleness enchantment.

The cost, BTW, of Celestial Chainshirt should be essentially the same as that for chainmail. The only difference would be the price difference between a chain shirt (100gp) and chainmail (150gp). I'm sure you can handle a 50gp difference.

As to what this (completely new) magic armor would have for a Max Dex, etc......well, I'm not sure why you can't just look the difference between the mundane armors. (shrug)

I believe Celestial chain is already mithril, but I am not sure. I know it's fairly unique, and breaking down the costs with it in particular is hard.

Personaly, my favorite concoction is Celestial Chainmail of Command (Remove the magic brestplate from the Breastplate of command and add the cost to the celestial chain).

Celestial Armor is -not- mythril.....for one, mythril only adds a +2 to max dex bonus, which would have given celestial armor a +4 max dex. It has a +8. Which is a +6 difference from regular chainmail. Id say that a chain shirt instead of chainmail should have a +10 max dex bonus(+6 from its original), no armor check penalty(the armor check penalty of the chainmail version drops by 3, more than the total amount for a chainshirt) and a 5% ASF chance. (drop it by 15%, same as the chainmail version). Does that sound reasonable?

If celestial armor isn't already mithral, wouldn't mithral celestial chainmail armor be a max dex bonus of +10, 0 Armorcheck penalty, and 5% ASF, and provide a total bonus of 8ac?

It'd only really add 4k to the price.

A mithral chain celestial shirt would have then max dex bonus of +12, 0 armor check penalty and 0% ASF, and provide a total bonus of 7ac.

Mithral chain celestial shirt all the way, for a cost increase of 950gp, get +4 dex bonus.

Gives the OP room to grow.


Edit: the ASF on Celestial Armpr is half the ASF in regular, so the ASF in a chain shirt version should be 10%.

Yeah, as discussed here previously, celestial armor doesn't explicitly *say* it's mithril, but it does have all the same statistics as if it was mithril already.

Celestial armor says its silver or gold...so no mithril.
